The rugged beauty of Komosse, Sweden

Komosse is one of the largest mire landscapes in southern Sweden and makes a big impression with its sparse yet intriguing flora. There are various types of bogs and fens, watercourses and forests in the region – as well as islands with solid ground. In some places there are sinkholes where water vanishes from the streams, which then continue flowing in tunnels deep down in the peat.
